On the Cutting Room floor: Reporter says, "Idea Man or Chimp"
Once again, I've got surplus content for my upcoming Indicee post. This week's post, Think Like a Reporter, takes the principles of Journalism and applies them to an office setting. Or most any setting for that matter. Being a great reporter is a mindset, not just a paycheck. In fact, it's increasingly not even a paycheck! Sorry Journo's, that was not nice. Anyhow, here's one of my favourite scenes from the Cohen Brothers' classic, The Hudsucker Proxy. And yes, I've referenced this movie before. It's got it ALL! In this scene, the editor berates his indolent staff for failing to get the goods on the city's most intriguing new public figure. But, there's a dissenting opinion. Is this guy an "Idea Man"? Or, a Chimp...: It's relevant up to about the 2min46sec mark. BTW, if anyone knows how to put a stop-marker into the embed code of a YouTube video, I would be much obliged. Also, for fans of The Wire, watch close and see the early days of Roland "Prez" Pryzbylewski! Believe it! Enjoy!
